Team # 10 - Earth, Wind, and Wire

Team Procedures

Meeting Date/Time/Location
5 pm on Monday in Rhodes
Backup: 3:30 on Friday

Meeting Agendas:
The weekly leader will set the meeting agenda and be responsible for following it during the meeting, and reminding team members
The weekly leader will drive the weekly meeting and keep the team on track

Decision Making:
We will make team decisions using the Socratic method
Meeting Minutes:
The team will rotate the responsibility of taking meeting minutes, and all notes will be uploaded onto Google Drive

Communication:
Preferred method of communication: facebook messenger
Response Time: Respond to messages by the end of the day

Team Expectations:
Work Quality:
First, the robot has to work
Once it’s working, we can build on the design
Work will be reviewed by the team to make sure members are satisfied with changes.

We will have a check-in period two days before the official deadline

Strategies to fulfill these standards:
Team Participation:
Strategies to ensure cooperation and equal distribution of tasks:
The Team leader will delegate tasks evenly
Team members can speak up if they feel task distribution is uneven
Strategies for encouraging/including ideas from all team members (team maintenance):
We’ll use whiteboards to brainstorm collaboratively
We’ll have a google doc where team members can put ideas as they come up with them
Strategies to get help if you’re stuck:
Go to office hours as soon as we get stuck, ask TAs questions
Use piazza

Personal Accountability:
Expected individual attendance, punctuality, and participation at all team meetings:
If you have a conflict, let team members know as soon as possible
For team meetings, focus on the project, don’t be on phones or working on other assignments
We can move meetings around prelim schedules
Expected level of responsibility for fulfilling team assignments, timelines, and deadlines:
Do your work in a timely manner, be honest if you are struggling and reach out for help
Expected level of communication with other team members: Use facebook messenger, be honest and open
Expected level of commitment to team decisions and tasks:
Commitment around 10 hours/week
Prepare for a heavier load towards the end of the semester

How should a team member catch up if they have to miss a meeting?:
Review meeting notes on drive, ask questions over messenger if anything is unclear
Consequences for Failing to Follow Procedures and Fulfill Expectations
The team leader will address individuals who do not uphold the contract
If it really impacts the project, we will address it with the whole group
What your team will do if these infractions continue:
We will bring the issue to Kirsten

Team Leadership
Every person on the team will have to take the role as a leader for at least two weeks. The role of the leader will be to organize meetings and make sure that everything is submitted in a timely manner. Here are some hints on what the leader should do. Please note here who will be responsible when:

Aug 28th - Sep 15th (Lab 1, work on lab 2): Maria Bobbett

Sep 16th - Sep 29th (Lab 2, Milestone 1 and 2): Jennifer Fuhrer 

Sep 30th - Oct 20th (Lab 3, work on lab 4):Yixuan Wang 

Oct 21st - Nov 3rd (Lab 4 and Milestone 3): Tejas Advait

Nov 4th - Nov 17th (Milestone 4): Leandro Dorta 

Nov 18th - Dec 5th (Final competition and deadline for the website):Joshua Diaz
